With the kit now anchored at the center, stretch the outer edge of the hood piece to line up with the edge of the hood. It is important for the edge of the kit to be no more than 1/16 to 3/32 of an inch from the edge of the hood and to be perfectly parallel to the edge of the hood. On some kits, it may look like the kit is not the correct shape and that the edge of the kit is at a slightly different angle than the edge of the hood. This is intended for proper fit and it is imperative that you force the kit to line up parallel to the edge of the hood. Doing this takes some of the excess material from the front edge of the kit and distributes it to the trailing edge of the kit. If you ignore this step, your installation attempt will likely be unsuccessful.
